Q & A

This workshop is for the whole family. Activities are accessible and enjoyed by kids from around 5-7 years old through high school, as well as adults.

Ideally, the whole family would participate together at the same time. If this is not possible, then gather as many together as your situation allows. If needed, one parent can go through the materials and then share with the rest of the family to get their input.

My family was coping fine when we participated in the workshop. Yet it was powerful. We got deeper than we would have by just talking together. We gained a suite of tools we could use with future transitions. That made us feel empowered.

When I do this workshop in person, I allow about 4 hours, including settling in and a break to eat and stretch in the middle.

I allot about 30-45 minutes per activity. However, I’ve had some families finish in 10 minutes, and others are just getting going after 45 minutes. It depends on the ages of your kids, and how engaged each participant is.

You’ll need the following preparations and materials:

  • Print the workshop instructions … OR write/draw the pages yourself (they’re easy!)
  • Paper for drawing/coloring on – 2-3 per person
  • 1 Large paper … OR tape together several sheets
  •  Pens, pencils
  • Crayons, colored pencils, or markers
  • Ruler
  • Tape
  • Beads and string … OR pebbles and painting supplies … OR

It’s wonderful to do this with a group! The instructions will explain how to invite people (ideally whole family units), set up the space, and debrief together.
