Imagine enjoying the ride of a lifetime …
and not worrying that you’re
messing up your kids by living abroad.
Me and my kids with the wind in our hair
Kind of like the wind in your hair: It’s romantic sounding. It’s a thrilling rush. Invigorating.
And … It’s a tangled mess. Sometimes you can’t quite breathe. Sometimes you want to hide from the overstimulation.
I know exactly what it’s like raising a family in another country & culture, and how it can be the most amazing adventure AND most overwhelming challenge at the same time.
- You know you’re giving your kids the opportunity of a lifetime and amazing experiences.
- But still... you lay awake at night quietly wondering if you’ve messed up their lives … by tearing them away from friends or grandparents, making them start over when they weren’t ready, or by plunging them into a new language.
- You love the perks of being able to afford house help. You appreciate this time to take life at a slower pace, so you can read, learn, rest and get healthy. You love being dedicated to your kids, the school and community. In short, you wouldn’t trade this life for anything.
- But... if you’re honest, you feel almost guilty for being self-indulgent. You yearn for something more fulfilling ... you want to contribute to something that matters.
- You’ve found your tribe. Your social calendar is full. Besides, you’re happy to have left behind the ignorance and narrow mindset of home.
- Yet sometimes … you spend chunks of the day aching for your family and friends who know your inside jokes. When you think of being forced to say goodbye to another best friend, you feel yourself shrinking away from meeting new people or investing fully in new relationships.
Because let’s be real. While the rest of the world thinks you’re living a privileged, exciting life (and you are), it’s still hard. You long for meaning.
Wouldn’t it be nice to sit down with another parent who’s gone through this before, who won’t judge you for the fact that
- your kids don’t know how to do chores around the house because you’ve had a full time maid / cook / driver;
- your family talks about all the amazing countries they’ve visited as if it’s natural to fill your passport before it even expires;
- you live in a place semi-permanently but still don’t speak the language;
- you create a huge carbon footprint from flying around the globe twice a year because it’s that important to connect with family … or
- “home” doesn’t feel like “home” anymore, and you’re going on safari instead.
Because only someone who’s been there would understand the trade-off: For all these enriching experiences you cherish and would never give back, you’ve sacrificed a place in the world you used to belong to.
And not only will she not judge you, she’ll help you get through it, so you AND your children are smiling at the end.
That’s where Adapt and Succeed Abroad comes in:
Sure-fire strategies for your international life
"Whether a first time mover or a serial mover there is advice, insight and wisdom."
- a serial expat
Hi, I’m Kim.
Me and the whole family
I totally get the yo-yo between loving raising your kids abroad, and second guessing whether a traditional lifestyle would have been better for them.
But here’s the truth: My children are happy, trusting, and well connected (to themselves, to us, to their grandparents). That didn’t happen by accident. We’ve worked at it.
I’d be lying if I said there weren’t some days I was ready to pack our suitcases and abandon my husband’s job, just so our kids could know the joy of spending every holiday with their cousins … or even just one Christmas with the whole family.
Which is why I’m so passionate about helping other families who are brave enough to go off the beaten path.
You deserve to have someone holding your hand along the way.
So that when
- you’ve outgrown coffee mornings and want something more fulfilling,
- your kids are devastated about their friends leaving, or
- you get notice that you’re moving to a new country unexpectedly next month,
… you know what to do.
So you can be surrounded by people who don’t think you’re weird for crying in the grocery store when you can’t find your favorite brand of jam … and then buying a whole shopping cart full when it finally does appear; or filling your suitcases with two years worth of that special flour / bacon / shoes / deodorant … but actually think you’re completely normal.
And don’t forget, you’re a person too.
You’re a great mom and partner. But that’s not all.
Which is why we’ll work to make sure you can …
-
- Reclaim your own purpose outside of managing the family and the job.
- Maintain deep connections with loved ones even though they’re far away.
- Not let stress drive a wedge between you and your partner.
- Act like the parent you want to be, despite the stress.
- Live with no regrets.
Yes, you can have it all.

How it works
Delivered in a simple, easy to understand package, you’ll get
Just-in-time support on the things employer-based trainings miss (if you even got training)
Things like:
- Leaving well
- Myths of adaptation (Yes, it’s NORMAL to be struggling 6 months or 18 months in)
- Keeping your marriage healthy (dynamics between the “lead” and “accompanying” spouse)
- Realistic approaches for strong relationships (abroad and back home)
- Balancing the needs of your entire family (not just the person on “lead assignment”)
- Avoiding burnout (attending to time off and personal interests)
So you can cherish your experience and be ready for the next chapter of your adventure.
With “VIP” 1:1 Adapt and Succeed Abroad you receive:
Six months of personal support: Six coaching sessions to help you go deeper and stay on track. (These individualized sessions are not included in the On-Demand version of Adapt and Succeed Abroad. )

Make the most of your life abroad.
Intercultural life is no easy feat. Get to your definition of success faster:
- Adapt as quickly and painlessly as possible, by knowing what’s most important to do now (no matter which stage of life you’re in).
- Create - and keep - strong relationships, by knowing how to assess and nurture them.
- Cherish your experiences, by knowing how to reflect and celebrate.
- Know that you’re on the life trajectory you actually want, because you’ve identified your goals beyond the job contract (rather than letting life happen to you while you’re busy trying to survive).
- Lay your head on your pillow at night and feel completely satisfied, because you did the ONE thing you knew would make you glow with pride (instead of feeling defeated as you recall everything on your to-do list that didn’t get done and you can’t even remember why).
- Feel completely confident when you meet new people and introduce yourself, because you’ve reclaimed your own identity outside of being a mom or an accompanying spouse.
You need something that keeps you on track...
You want support just in time, right when you need it most… All while having somebody who’s got your back to keep you on track, who makes sure you’re making the absolute most out of your time abroad, and who’s there to pull you out of your lowest lows and celebrate your highest highs.
